Everything published on ReefDen — species pages, care guides, news, and any other content — is provided for informational and educational purposes only. We are not licensed veterinarians, marine biologists, electricians, plumbers, or any other regulated professional. Nothing on this site constitutes professional advice of any kind.

Keeping a saltwater aquarium involves live animals, electrical equipment, water, and (often) someone's home or rental property. You are responsible for the health of the animals in your care, the safety of your equipment installation, and any damage that may result from following information on this site. Always verify information against multiple sources, consult a qualified professional when in doubt, and use your own judgement.

Care information is a starting point, not a guarantee

The water parameters, tank sizes, compatibility notes, and care difficulty ratings on species pages reflect mainstream hobby consensus and authoritative public sources at the time of writing. Individual specimens vary. Local tap water chemistry varies. Tankmate dynamics vary. A species that thrives in one reefkeeper's system may not thrive in another's for reasons no guide can predict. Treat care information as a starting point and adjust to what you observe.

Where indicated, descriptive content on species pages is adapted from Wikipedia under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license, taxonomy is from WoRMS, and photos are from iNaturalist or Wikimedia Commons under commercial-friendly Creative Commons licenses with full attribution on each species page. ReefDen is not responsible for the accuracy of third-party content. If you spot an error, email editor@reefden.comand we'll fix it.

Verified takedown requests are processed within 5 business days. We use only Creative Commons (CC-BY, CC-BY-SA, CC0) and public- domain photos with full attribution, so most concerns can be resolved by correcting an attribution rather than removing content.
